Erik Espinosa started in the 90’s as a Cigar Rep for Drew Estate, Rocky Patel and others before cofounding EO Brands in 2003 with Eddie Ortega. Together they released many successful and delicious brands including Murcielago, 601 and La Bomba. After EO Brands disbanded (pun-intended), Erik Espinosa founded a new company, Espinosa Cigars, along with a new factory to call his own: La Zona in 2012. Since 2012, Erik Espinosa has released a multitude of new blends to the cigar world including the Las 6 Provincias, Espinosa Laranja Reserva, Espinosa Laranja Azulejo, Espinosa Reggae and just recently in 2022 he brought back the Murcielago.

  • Laranja Escuro: Dark Brazilian Mata Fina maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. This full-bodied extension of the Laranja line delivers dried fruit, coffee and sweet spice with richer complexity than its lighter sibling.
  • Murciélago: Named after the Spanish word for “bat,” this blend features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan fillers. Erik reverse-engineered the original blend at La Zona and relaunched it in 2015 with balanced flavors of cocoa, earth and subtle spice.
