While many brands sell cigars, Crowned Heads sells cigars with a story. 

The co-founders of Crowned Heads met while working as executives for CAO. After the company was acquired and moved its operations to Richmond, VA, Jon Huber and Mike Conder decided to start their own brand. The idea was to build something the industry hadn't seen before. They wanted cigars that were anchored in culture, cigars that told a genuine story. 

To bring this vision to life, Jon and Mike partnered with the manufacturers in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. These partnerships allowed them to create exceptional cigars with an even draw.

Las Calaveras is not a regular cigar but an annual heartfelt tribute. Drawing inspiration from Mexico's La Calavera Catrina, the cigar honors the lives of specific people close to the brand who have passed away. As a celebration of life, each release is unique and complex and is crafted for the thoughtful aficionado who appreciates a deep story backed by a sense of tradition.

A Cigar Collector's Dream

Unlike some of their staple products, this cigar is different every year. Las Calaveras is a one-time blend that features different wrappers each year. The 2023 collection used the bold Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, while the 2024 Décimo Aniversario release relied on an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro, which is grown in Ecuador using natural cloud cover to filter the sun. This technique often results in a thick, oily leaf full of flavor.
