The word Metapa means “place of magueys” which is a type of agave plant. Ruben Dario was born in the city of Metapa and so the name is very fitting. The Foundation Metapa Maduro blend consists of a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra Maduro wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and Nicaraguan fillers (Esteli & Jalapa).
