Romeo Y Julieta 1875, Bully, 20th Feb 2021

Reviewer: Curtis Ward

A pre-draw of fresh sweet hay was the initial announcement. When ignited, the cherry emitted a very toasty scent. Upon smoking, it revealed notes of very a fine oak, toasty-ness, sweet woodiness, light leather, and very light cocoa accented by hints of cedar and cherry which blended harmoniously. The retro-hale had a lot of cherry and woodiness. I detected no coffee at all. It left a peppery aftertaste. The second third there was an increase of oak and more pepper. At this point there was a bit of flavor reminding me of a fine pipe tobacco. The final third had even more oak and pepper, less leather, and a hint of coffee bean (although not much coffee been at all). Sweet barnyard lingered on my beard. The stick was well crafted with no unraveling of the far eastern wrapper. There was a bit of canoeing now and then but not much. The burn was fairly even and the ash held well throughout the first third. The dominant flavors were that of oak and toasty-ness accented by hints of cedar and cherry. This was a great cigar.

Maybe just the batch., 11th Jun 2018

Have been enjoying these for years. Bought 2 boxes, I'm halfway through the 1st box and the wrappers crack and fall apart in large pieces leaving me with a basic filler to smoke. This may have just been a bad batch, they just seem to be dry as a bone. Hoping the 2nd box is more like I usually get. If they continue and this is a manufacturing problem, I'll be forced to go to a different brand.

I bought two (2) Romeo y Julietta 1845s at a cigar store in Asheville NC and they were execellent smokes. The first smoke from the box I bought would not stay aglow and had a terrible draw. The second drew well but had a "green leaf" flavor.. My opinion is still forming

Great smoke for pro or beginners. Consistent flavor that you can count on and same for construction. There is a reason they have been around so long!
My go to smoke!
