Big Papi Firecracker

United Cigars’ Firecracker line takes on Baseball with the Big Papi Firecracker cigar. This cigar was created by former MLB ballplayer David “Big Papi” Ortiz and La Artista Cigars. It’s the same size as the other Firecracker cigars, a 3 ½” x 50 Short Robusto, but feature a Dominican negrito binder, a blend of Dominican (Criollo ’98)/Nicaraguan (Jalapa)/Pennsylvanian Broadleaf fillers, and a Mexican San Andres wrapper. “This was a special project that I wanted to be a part of,” said Ram Rodriguez, owner of El Artista Cigars, in a press release. “This Firecracker is a unique vitola and for a Big Papi Firecracker it had to be special. I wanted tobacco that was grown in the Dominican in the 60’s and Dominican Negrito was that tobacco.” They’re available in 20-count boxes with 10 of them being hand signed by David Ortiz on the inside. Only 1,000 boxes total were produced but each one contains a QR code that will direct consumers to a video of Big Papi personally thanking them for their purchase.
