Dominican Republic

Following the Cuban Trade Embargo in 1962, cigar-makers settled in the United States and throughout Central and South America, one of the most notable countries was the Dominican Republic. Home to many of the worlds renowned cigar factories and many of the most celebrated cigars in the world are handmade in the Dominican Republic, including Arturo Fuente, Ashton, Macanudo, Davidoff, J.C. Newman, H. Upmann and Cohiba. Generally milder in strength, Dominican tobacco can exhibit complex flavors when combined with other tobaccos.
