Padilla 1948 Cigars
Describing the Padilla 1948 is practically impossible, because the quality and construction is flawless, which can only be properly appreciated upon close examination. Padilla 1948 is produced in Nicaragua at a small boutique factory with very limited production and top-notch torcedors.
The filler consists of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo tobaccos secured by a Criollo binder. The blend is then completed with an incredible looking Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper.
The 1948 is the second addition to the Padilla trilogy started by Ernesto in honor of his father, one of Cuba’s most accomplished poets. 1948 marks the year his father published his first book.
The Padilla 1948 is a mild to medium bodied smoke that delivers lots of flavor with every puff. Starting out like any true Padilla cigar, it has a potent, spicy start that gently smoothes out about halfway down.
The smoke has subtle notes of caramel and leather and has a wonderful room note of sugar and spice. You might want to break out a clip for the last ¼ of the cigar, as the Padilla 1948 takes on a whole new persona with a warm sweetness.
