My Uzi Weighs A Ton +11 Cigars

Drew Estate worked with the Joya de Nicaragua factory in late 2010 during a Cigar Safari tour with the B.O.T.L. group. After conducting blending sessions for the previous 3 years at the Drew Estate factory we were amped up to extend the concept to Joya de Nicaragua. I worked with the Joya de Nicaragua team utilizing Drew Estate tobaccos, including a San Andreas Negro wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade Binder and hearty Brazilian Mata Fina Filler, coupled with Nicaraguan fillers provided by Joya de Nicaragua. The blend proved to be rich and earthy, with a bright, sweet undertone. As months of blending passed, I felt this blend was most noble in the 6x60 format and began calling this cigar "The Uzi." We all had a good laugh at the name, but when I went back to their factory to pick up the round of 50 sticks, I said, "Damn, My UZI's Weighs a Ton!" - and the brand was officially born.

Let me describe the MUWAT in 3 words: Big, Bold & Flavorful. I can't tell you how much I enjoy smoking this cigar. One of my favorite flavors in cigars is those earthy tones; that is why I prefer the Liga Privada No. 9 over the T52. The MUWAT is available in 3 sizes: 5x50, 6x60 and 7x60. These cigars burn slow and even - I smoked the 7x60 and it racked up a 2 1/2 hour burn time! These cigars won't be as limited as the Liga Privada so you will have a chance to enjoy these cigars.

First ever review, here goes. Lots of smoke, medium to full on taste. Earthy flavor, good after taste. Did not smoke even from first light until end. Possibly just the cigar I had. Would try another and would recommend.

Great cigar! Sweet tobacco and cocoa on cold draw. Earthy cocoa and spice flavors once lit, with a slight peppery finish. Medium body, but still good flavors on the palate. About half way through, some fruity-like flavors creep in but nothing overboard. Produces lots of smoke and while it had an uneven burn, it wasn't uncontrollable. Would definitely recommend - and will be purchasing more!

3 stars title= Not a ton, but, 16th May 2013

Reviewer: Alan Wigder

Very nice wrapper, very fine veins, dark and oily. Some blemishes. Excellent draw.
Almost an even burn. Sweet, full smoke. The sweetness subsided some and the complexity became noticeable, with coffee notes.
Sweetness kept subsiding but the wrapper began to split.
Halfway through I got notes of dark chocolate, the original sweetness mellowed, and some nutty tones came through.
Finally the splitting didn't extend far, but there was some wrapper flaking. The burn became uneven again while it became more complex. Richer coffee and toasted nuts.
I really enjoyed the second half, but the original sweetness was too much for my spice-loving palate.

Bitter pepper all the way through. Stupid name. Couldn't wait for it to be over...

Easy Draw. Nice smooth taste and not overwhelming. Interesting wrapper gave it a smooth burn with an even light.

Good draw and burn. Decent flavor and medium bodied. Nice construction and flavor, but not a ton. More like a pound. Would smoke this again but I perfer others if had a choice.

Smoking the +11 UZI is quite satisfying with a nice, almost sweet, taste and aroma. The wrapper and overall construction were quite nice but the burn was slightly ragged. Very enjoyable but there are other cigars in that price range that I would prefer.

4 stars title= Unexpected Pleasure, 25th May 2013

My Uzi I received was a beautiful item. Toothy beautiful wrapper, veiny and had a great dry draw. Once lit...the first fe puffs were actually very peppery. not My preference but it shortly smoothed out and the peppery notes with hints of cocoa became very pleasurable. Second third of the stick kept up nicely. Thick bluish smoke and the ash was white and solid..it did not want to drop off ..even with a touch of coaxing. The perfect burn continued thru the rest of the stick and the slight oily glisten behind the ash told me we were smokin it at the right time. At the end the pepper started to build as it usually does ...due to the buildup in the tip.
To my surprise..This Drew Estate beauty came thru for me nicely.
If pepper is part of your pallet..i cant recommend this stick enough.
Great job.. Thanx Drew@OverACigar.com

Had one before and was not good. But this time the cigar was pleasant tasing and easy to smoke. Would try it again and recommend trying it for a change in cigars. Like the Name!!

3 stars title= A little harsh, 29th May 2013

Reviewer: Stephen Schmidt

While it may appeal to some I found this cigar to be full bodied and a little bitter all the way through. It was peppery with a solid draw. Wrapper and construction were excellent.

4 stars title= The flavor weighs a ton, 4th Jun 2013

The cigar is rustic and intense. The smoke was heady and thick. On the palate this cigar is as dry as a Napa Valley Cabernet. Nice bite and body with a long finish.

3 stars title= Not what I expected, 9th Jun 2013

Reviewer: MIKE VANHUSS

Initial impression was a bit harsh. Started out very strong but mellowed mid smoke. Very woodsy and a true Medium Full to Full experience. Recommend for late day smoke. Be prepared for its full bodiedness.

Another solid cigar from one of my favorite producers, Drew Estate. Even burn, medium-to-bold flavors. Enjoyed one today with an iced tea on the deck.
