5 stars title= Creamy & Luxurious, 3rd May 2013

Reviewer: Richard Howard

Creamy & Luxurious
Smoke Time: 1hr
Cold Draw: Woodsy with hints of anise
Burn: Even with little touch-ups
Review:
This Connecticut Shade cigar was a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting such complex flavors to emerge from the Dominican tobacco, but I was wrong. The foot of the cigar and into an inch was flavorful giving off waves of creamy butter toffee and nuts. The strength of the cigar is what you would expect from Connecticut Shade; however, don't be fooled into thinking this is a mild cigar. More medium bodied strength took over at the half-way point and intense flavors of cedar and spice complemented this very surprising smoke. I would rate this on par with Ashton and Fuente at half the price.
Pairs With:
Beer - Shock Top Belgium White - compliments the sweet notes of butter and toffee well
Spirit - Redbreast 15 year old Pure Pot Still Irish Whiskey - compliments the strength and complexity

3 stars title= A refined mild to medium cigar, 4th May 2013

Reviewer: Paul Guereber

Pre-light draw had a close to perfect slight resistance and cedar flavor. The burn needed no corrections. The cedar flavor was consistent thru out with grassy notes and a longer than average finish. The only con for me was the dry palate it left. It would be a good morning cigar with a mild coffee.

5 stars title= Boris 11 Perfecto Connecticut, 4th May 2013

Reviewer: Dean Terry

This is an excellect smoke, The wrapper is very silky and smooth with a lightly veiny appearance and well constructed. The draw is very easy and smooth. Initally the is a peppery note accected with very light grassy and woody notes and a hint of sweetness, As the smoke progresses into about 30 to 40% point the grassy and woody notes subside and the peppery densation morphs into a dessert type spicy flavor that reminded me o the cinnemon flavor of a jolly rancer fire stix I remember as a kid but with a creamy dried fruit flavor ... apricot perhaps with an enduring slight sweetness. The cinnemon flavor tapers off towards the nub while the slight sweetness remains. Strength wise this cigar begins light and becomes more medium in its strength towards the nub. It burns extermely well and the draw remains constant through out the smoke. It would also seem to make for an excellent first time smoke. I'd rate it at a 92 - 94 overall.

5 stars title= Medium Smoke, 5th May 2013

Reviewer: Anil Valiani

I smoked this cigar on a Sunday and it was a good medium bodied smoke. The cigar is a perfecto so it does not take long to light the cigar. I used a regular straight cut on the cap. The pre-light draw is very open and easy smells very chocolatey. The first third of the cigar was very pleasant with notes of chocolate and creamy coffee. I picked up some complexity in this cigar toward the middle of the cigar. Comparable to a rocky patel connecticut. I normally enjoy mild cigars and this cigar was a little more medium to full bodied type but still a good smoke. I would recommend for anyone looking to smoke with a drink like a mojito or a nice scotch. The smoke is light but full of flavor and carries all the way through the end. There are no burn issues and it smokes rather quick so it is better to put it down, take a few puffs and then smoke again. Great Sunday smoke.

what an smooth draw this was one of the best cigars that I have smoked in a while mild to med body. the complexity of this one is peppery and a bit of coffee.
again excellent

Reviewer: James Novell

Good solid cigar
A bit mild for my taste but good draw, good ash, good cigar.

3 stars title= Interesting Smoke, 6th May 2013

Reviewer: Bryan K. Gravely

From the start the draw on this cigar was super tight and smoke was in short supply throughout. The construction was strong and sturdy, the wrapper didn't crack, flake or unravel as Connecticut wrappers are prone to doing.
The flavor profile is different for a Connecticut wrapper. If you're looking for the run of the mill, quasi-bland Connecticut, this isn't the smoke for you. While the flavor wasn't necessarily to my liking, that doesn't make it bad - the reason they make a million different cigars is because everyone has different tastes.
Draw issues aside, if you're a Connecticut fan looking for a unique flavor, I would give the Boris 11 a try.

4 stars title= mild beauty, 6th May 2013

Reviewer: Carmine Fortunato

A mild cigar with vanilla and almond notes. Although it burned kind of quickly, the burn was even all the way down. Good for an early in the day smoke.

5 stars title= smooth and creamy, 7th May 2013

Reviewer: David Rockowitz

I love this brand. Very nice woody tones with an oily wrapper which produces a creamy feeling. Very delicious cool smoke. Very even burn all the way down. I have purchased a box of these and have loved every one.

5 stars title= Love it., 7th May 2013

Reviewer: Ian Martin

Its like Oliva Connecticut Reserve with a bit more complexity. It was light with a backbone of oak and hints of floral notes throughout the burn. almost couldn't put it down.I needed a nubber for it. Great cigar.

4 stars title= A very solid smoke!, 7th May 2013

Reviewer: James King

This Boris 11 is a very nice cigar. Beautiful construction. Draw was a tad snug, but OK. This cigar was a medium-bodied stick. Great burn. Woodsy, some leather. A very nice retro hale. Finish was long. This cigar had moments of complexity. I would most def smoke this again.

3 stars title= Mild Smoke, 7th May 2013

Nice looking cigar out of the wrapper...average draw...even burn...mild leather, earthy notes...nice morning cigar with cup of dark roast coffee.

3 stars title= Keeper?, 8th May 2013

Reviewer: THOMAS MULLEN

I was disappointed with this stick..The tase was good, mild and some interesting tatse..But the draw was difficult, It was difficult to keep the stick lit. My stick had a uneven burn and burned too quickly.

3 stars title= One of the better Conns, 8th May 2013

Reviewer: Brad Gunnell

Not a real fan of Connecticuts but this one was better than I anticipated. Enjoyed after a very light meal, post-dessert. A heartier meal would have demanded a more robust, stronger stick as this one was quite medium. Slightly stronger than the Gurkha Park Ave, on par with the Rocky Conn and a better flavor than either. A light blue smoke, good burn, no draw issues to note. Would keep a few in the humidor for morning/breakfast smokes.

4 stars title= Nice Mild, 8th May 2013

Reviewer: Anthony Palmer

This was my first Boris. This was a mild creamy smoke with some leather notes. It lasted over an hour. I am usually a medium to full body guy but this is one I could smoke all day long.

4 stars title= Beautiful, 9th May 2013

Reviewer: Paul Carlo

This is a great cigar whether every day or when you want that special cigar. Consistent, mild to medium flavor, very smooth. I would definitely keep a bunch of these around.

5 stars title= Boris 11 Perfecto Connecticut, 11th May 2013

Reviewer: DAVID YIELDING

This is a very good looking cigar. I see some plume sand it is a light, smooth and pretty Connecticut wrapper. As far as the construction it is rolled a little too tight and a lot too dense. This does not draw well I could only pull a little smoke through it. The ash is a solid gray color and the burn is uneven.

It's hard to tell the flavor and strength of the cigar do to the burn issues. Its a mild, sweet grassy taste and the after taste is a hot, and a bit harsh.

The aroma is good, light and mild, again has the grassy aroma. I had this with my morning coffee. I would not buy them I would not recommend them due to the draw unfortunately that happens with cigars occasionally. If the draw was okay I might change my mind on that. I say instead have an Rocky Patel Edge Connecticut Rocky Patel.

3 stars title= not bad, 12th May 2013

Reviewer: Charles Van Horn

I really don't care for the connecticut wrapper. Not a fan, but the cigar is well crafted even though its too mild for my tastes. Its a good burn, plenty of smoke and I'm sure if I liked the mildness this is one I would like. it lasted about 1hr

4 stars title= Good mild smoke, 12th May 2013

Reviewer: John Byrnes

As a smoker of more full bodied sticks, this one was mild to me and a smooth smoking stick throughout. It had a good burn, a good texture and consistant flavor, but a bit mild for my general smokes.

5 stars title= Sweet, Creamy and Light - A Delight!, 19th May 2013

Reviewer: David Blender

A well constructed cigar with some very minor imperfections on the wrapper. Straight cut and woodstick match lit. A nice smooth smoke. A true pleasurable cigar that goes well easily as an afternoon or after dinner smoke. The smell, taste, and draw are reminiscent of select cubans. The burn was steady, even, and consistent, as was the draw. The ash held solidly throughout the first half and second half of this 50 minutes of smoking satisfaction. The flavor is mild and tasty absent any harshness; filled with notes of sweetness, coffee and cream.
Ready to try something pleasing and tasteful? Give this one a try; you won't be disappointed!

4 stars title= Complex flavor, 19th May 2013

Reviewer: Robert Tackett

This cigar is a highly complex with a flavor profile that includes notes of wood, straw and grass with a spicy background. After the midpoint the spicy notes were more pronounced. The burn rate and temperature were exceptional as was the draw. This is an excellent cigar that delivers outstanding complex flavors to the end of the smoke. It is highly recommended.

4 stars title= Great light to medium bodied cigr, 20th May 2013

Reviewer: Robert Kesten

I realy enjoyed this cigar once it loosened up a little and I did not have to struggle to get a good draw. The cigar is full of flavor without being to heavy a smoke. Wonderfully rich yet mild flavors make this a great afternoon or aftr dinner cigar. I would strongly recommend to all of my friends that enjoy a connecticut wrapped cigar.

5 stars title= Unique profile, 25th May 2013

Reviewer: Robert Beazley

I have been wanting to try this cigar ever since Cigar Coop gave it a 94. I must say I was not disappointed. At close inspection the Boris 11 has a nice toothy tan wrapper with a few prominent veins, which do not detract from the overall beautiful appearance of this cigar. On further inspection it is nice and firm with no soft spots. The aroma from the foot gives off some cedar and hay aromas and the cold draw has a similar taste. On lighting the first thing I notice is a very nice floral aroma coming from the smoke. 1st third: very smooth & creamy, a little floral sweetness, a touch of citrus, the smooth velvety smoke clings to the roof of the mouth leaving a pleasant after taste. 2nd: the ash dropped almost exactly at the half way mark, profile is similar to before but now there are hints of cedar and hazelnut, final 3rd: profile remains the same which is a good thing and towards the nub some pepper.
Overall: well worth a 94, one of the most unique Connecticuts I have ever smoked. I bought a box!!- nuff said

Nice appearance and firm feel. The cigar starts out mild and is very even for the duration of the smoke. This is a nice beginner or morning smoke with enough character to keep all smokers interested.

2 stars title= dwpap32, 28th May 2013

Reviewer: Danny Pappas

Three things a cigar must offer are even burn, easy draw and lots of smoke. This cigar failed all three. The cigar did have a pleasing taste but the negatives mentioned above were too much to overcome.

5 stars title= My Experience, 28th May 2013

Reviewer: Blake Bork

I've had the Boris 11 several times before, and every time its been a great smoke. It has a great flavor and a great wrapper around it. I haven't had a cigar that burns so evenly from the moment you light it to when your fingers are about to get a burn. The smooth taste allows for an enjoyable experience. Overall one of the best smokes I've had.

5 stars title= Borris 11 Smooth and Creamy, 3rd Jun 2013

Reviewer: James Bartlett

I received a Borris 11 Selecion Especial from Corona Cigars about a month ago. This cigar has been stored in my personal humidor at an appropriate humidity and temperature. The Borris Connecticut vitola that I smoked for this review was the 5-7/8" by 50 perfecto. This cigar is exclusively at Corona Cigars. The cigar started very smooth. The burn was even and the ash held for a considerable time. The cigar stayed smooth and had a very creamy flavor. I would consider this a medium body cigar. I smoked this cigar till I had to remove the band and finished off the final bit of this stick. I would purchase this cigar again.

5 stars title= Totally unexpected experience, 9th Jun 2013

Reviewer: Andrew Kwon

Totally unexpected experience. Initial inspection: the cigar is a little spongy. Its a little darker than your usual light ct wrapper. Light and 1st 1/3 provide a very creamy cigar. Flavors of very subtle hints of sweetness and nuts. Very nice combo indeed. 2nd 1/3 had the sweetness drop off but the nutty flavor was still there. Final 1/3 the subtle sweetness comes back. The creaminess was present the whole time. Very enjoyable. Would definitely buy more to see if this is consistent.
