As the oldest family owned cigar company in America, the J.C. Newman Cigar Company has been manufacturing and distributing high quality, premium cigars for over 104 years.  The J.C. Newman Cigar Company still manufacturers close to 80,000 cigars in their Ybor City factory, located in Tampa, and in the Dominican Republic, the Newmans are partnered with the Carlos Fuente family who manufacturers J.C. Newman's Premium handmade cigars such as the Diamond Crown Maximus.  In 1991, Stanford Newman first discussed his idea about making a Super Premium cigar, the Diamond Crown, with Carlos Fuente Sr. in celebration of J.C. Newman Cigar Company's upcoming 100th Anniversary; Stanford Newman wanted to develop a truly exceptional series of cigars unlike any other on the market.  And he succeeded. 

The Diamond Crown has become a standard in quality mild cigars with complex flavors, but as the market moved more toward full-bodied in the late 90’s, Newman wanted to create a cigar as good as the Diamond Crown but with a full body and took several years perfecting the blend.  The end result was the Diamond Crown Maximus.  The Maximus’s specially aged Dominican filler is blended by Carlito Fuente and combined with a rare Sungrown Ecuadorian tobacco wrapper watchfully grown in the El Bajo region of Ecuador by the Oliva Family, who are well known for producing the finest tobacco in the world.  The blend gives the Maximus full-bodied yet smooth flavors of earth, coffee bean, and a well-balanced undertone of cedar spice.

 The cigar is made in limited numbers due to the extra special aging the tobacco undergoes and is only made available to a limited number of suppliers around the world.  The Diamond Crown Maximus is a truly legendary cigar, but not just in the context of the cigar itself, but also in the legendary minds and hands that came together to create it: the Newmans, the Fuentes and the Olivas.  Corona Cigar Company was selected to be one of the exclusive numbers of suppliers of the Diamond Crown and the Diamond Crown Maximus and because the number of retailers are limited we get a large supply, but the cigar is a best seller for us, so call or check on-line for availability. 

Don Pepin Cuban Classic

The Cuban Classic is the newest blend in the amazing trio of cigars that make up the Don Pepin line. The Cuban Classic is made in Pepin’s new Nicaraguan factory and like the Don Pepin Blue label and the Don Pepin Serie JJ, it has an all Nicaraguan blend using Pepin’s famous Corojo 99 wrapper. The cigar is full-bodied, carrying that now classic Pepin flavor, and he always manages to get very different flavor profiles using all Nicaraguan tobacco. Each cigar he produces has its own unique characteristics that prove his blending genius.

The Cuban Classic has flavors of strong black coffee with plenty of spice and cedar with a refined undertone of bittersweet chocolate. The Don Pepin Cuban Classic shows once again that Don Pepin is incapable of producing just a good cigar - he always blends the best.
